Activism vs Slacktivism
What ACTS are forms of ACTivism? Does it take the form of a protest? Holding a town hall? Are there methods of activism that are lazy or disingenuous? What makes a person an "activist" vs a "slacktivist"?
Engaging in activism is a civil right and freedom, but recently there is debate on what true activism looks like. In this session we will explore how activism takes many forms and why certain actions are labeled as lazy. We will discuss whether these forms of activism help, harm, or have no effect on the message.
